POMANDERS

A pomander is traditionally a citrus fruit (like an orange) studded with whole cloves and other spices.  It’s been used for centuries as a natural fragrance as they dry, to ward off illness, and of course, holiday decorations!

We paired our oranges with cloves, star anise, black velvet ribbon and silver star confetti for a modern twist!

To make your own:

oranges or citrus fruit

whole cloves 

needle or pin

ribbon 

 Poke holes in fruit (orange, lemon, lime, etc.) using a pin or needle.Press whole cloves into the openings.Add a ribbon for decor and/or for hanging.Hang in a warm spot or place in a bowl or paper bag to dry and release their fragrance.
