CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Chocolate chip cookie recipes are so personal but we’ve decided to share our favorite!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups packed light brown sugar
1/ 4 cup applesauce (or 1 egg)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2-3 teaspoons water
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
6 ounces dark chocolate or chocolate of your choice
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350F.Melt butter. Add butter to bowl with brown sugar and mix for 1 minute.
STEP 2
Add applesauce and mix.
STEP 3
Add water and vanilla and mix for 2 minutes.
STEP 4
Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a separate bowl and mix.
STEP 5
Pour flour mixture in with wet mixture and mix using a wooden spoon.
STEP 6
Roughly chop the chocolate bars with a chef’s knife (this gives such an elevated look).
STEP 7
Fold in chocolate shards.
STEP 8
Set the cookie dough aside and let it hydrate for 17 minutes.
STEP 9
Scoop onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet pan.
STEP 10
Set and bake for 11-14minutes.
STEP 11
Halfway through baking (or when you notice the cookies to rise and spread), take the cookie sheet out and tap on your oven door to deflate them before placing back in the oven.
STEP 12
Let cookies cool!
Leave at least 3 cookies out for santa with a glass of milk, or chocolate milk!
