Guests’ Stay
We love to host! We’ve listed out a few budget friendly, low effort preparations that give a hotel experience for your guests.
Snack
We love to leave chocolates on pillows or cookies on the guest bed. If your area is known for something specific, then consider leaving that for guests to try. Snacks are always warranted and most appreciated after travel.
BSW
A bedside water is imperative. Add water bottles or water carafe on the nightstand for your guests.
Wifi
Leaving the wifi credentials available to guests makes it so convenient. Most of the time we don’t remember until we retire for the night to ask!
Cheers
A house cocktail is such a nice touch! A drink always tastes better when someone else makes it for you! Take the edge off after travel and formalities with a cheers!
Slippers
We have a rule to leave shoes at the door. We like to provide slippers or plush socks for guests, not everyone is comfortable barefoot. Tying a ribbon around a pair of slippers or socks for guests feels like a thoughtful gift.
Flowers
Fresh flowers bedside instantly elevate a room. No time to find fresh flowers? Use faux stems in a vase with baking soda, it will act like an air purifier for the room and give the same ambiance.
Blankets
Always point out where extra blankets can be found. We appreciate a cold house but recognize not everyone feels the same so noting where extra blankets are allows guests to layer at their leisure.
Toiletries
A clean bathroom stocked with toiletry essentials (makeup wipes, shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps, extra toothbrushes and toothpaste, fresh towels, etc.) is arguably the most important preparation. As the traveling party it’s hard to pack all toiletries for a short stay. We like to save sample perfumes for guests to try in a coupe glass or sorbet dish-so chic and kind of fun for guests!
Coffee
Ask ahead of time how your guests take their coffee to make sure you have the ingredients needed. Better yet, show them where all the supplies are and how to operate the coffee/espresso machine before the night concludes. If they don’t rest well (while we hope this is not the case) it’s nice to be able to take care of themselves if you’re not available.
True hospitality is making guests feel comfortable and welcome in your home. Thoughtful preparations in your home make for a luxury hotel experience for your guests.
Happy hosting!
