PUMPKIN PIE AFFOGATO

An affogato is a traditional dessert from Italy made from espresso. While the affogato is usually served as a dessert, there’s nothing wrong with whipping one up as an afternoon treat.  Meaning "drowned" in Italian, this drink lives up to its name. We can’t think of a better duo than ice cream drowned in espresso.


Tips

  Freeze your ice cream in a cup ahead of time.

If hosting a dinner party, all you’ll need is to pour in the espresso shots and serve.

 While traditional affogato uses vanilla gelato, substitutions are always welcome.

We love ours with pumpkin pie ice cream, mint chip or cookie dough.

Ingredients

A single or double shot espresso

1-2 scoops of ice cream

Directions

In a cup or small bowl, add your ice cream. Enough to coat the interior of cup.

Brew the espresso over the ice cream and serve.
